THE ORGANISATION OF THE SCHOOL

The school is organised into two classes of mixed age groups.

• Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 - aged 4 to 7 years.
• Key Stage 2 - aged 7 to 11 years.

Mrs Knight teaches the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 Class with Teaching Assistant support from Mrs Verity every morning.
Mrs Allison and Mrs Simper share the teaching of the Key Stage 2 class to allow for Years 3 and 4 and Years 5 and 6 to be split for Literacy and Numeracy. Mrs Verity supports KS2 one afternoon per week. Mrs Stelling provides Teaching Assstant support in KS2.

All the children also receive swimming instruction each week from staff at Bedale Pool.

The children receive a tremendous amount of individual attention owing to the low pupil/adult ratio.


THE SCHOOL DAY

The children are in session for 27.5 hours per week. Of this, 25 hours are spent in lessons and 2.5 hours in assemblies and breaks.

Start 9.00 a.m.
Morning break
10.30 - 10.45 a.m.
Lunch 12.00 noon - 1.00 p.m.
Afternoon break 2.50 - 3.00 p.m.
School ends 3.30 p.m.
